This Cancellation and Refund Policy applies to all paid subscription plans offered by FinalDoc Technologies Private Limited ("FinalDoc", "we", "us", or "our") through our platform at finaldoc.io. This policy is part of and should be read in conjunction with our Terms of Service.
This policy complies with the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, and other applicable Indian laws.

1. Subscription Plans
FinalDoc offers the following paid subscription plans:
- Maker — $19/month or $190/year
- Team — $49/month or $490/year
- Business — $149/month or $1,490/year
- Enterprise — Custom pricing
All prices are in US Dollars (USD). Applicable taxes (including GST for Indian customers) are added at checkout.
2. How to Cancel
You may cancel your subscription at any time through either of these methods:
- Self-Service: Go to Settings > Billing in your FinalDoc dashboard and click "Cancel Subscription"
- Email: Send a cancellation request to support@finaldoc.io from your registered email address
We will acknowledge your cancellation request within 24 hours and send a confirmation email once the cancellation is processed.
3. What Happens When You Cancel
After cancellation:
- Your subscription remains active until the end of your current billing period
- You will not be charged for the next billing cycle
- After the billing period ends, your account is downgraded to the Free plan
- All your data (articles, categories, customization, settings) is preserved
- Features exceeding Free plan limits become read-only (you can still export your content)
- You can reactivate your subscription at any time to regain access to paid features
4. Refund Policy
4.1 Monthly Subscriptions
Monthly subscription payments are non-refundable. When you cancel a monthly plan, you retain access to all paid features for the remainder of your current billing period. No partial-month refunds are issued.
4.2 Annual Subscriptions
If you cancel an annual subscription within 14 days of the initial purchase date or the annual renewal date, you are eligible for a prorated refund for the unused portion of the subscription.
Prorated refund calculation:
Refund = (Annual Price) − (Monthly Price × Months Used)
After 14 days from purchase or renewal, annual plans are non-refundable, but you retain access until the end of the annual period.
4.3 Free Trial Period
When a free trial or promotional offer is available:
- No payment is collected during the trial period
- You may cancel at any time during the trial without any charge
- If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid plan and your payment method will be charged
- No refund is issued for charges incurred after the trial period ends due to failure to cancel
4.4 Promotional Offers
If you subscribed through a promotional offer (e.g., "Maker plan free for 6 months"), the promotional period is treated as a free trial. Standard refund terms apply to the paid period that follows.
5. Refund Process
To request a refund (for eligible annual plan cancellations):
- Email support@finaldoc.io with the subject line "Refund Request"
- Include your registered email address and reason for the refund
- We will review your request within 3 business days
- Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method within 5–10 business days
The actual time for the refund to appear in your account depends on your bank or card issuer and may take an additional 5–7 business days.
6. When Refunds Are Not Applicable
Refunds will not be issued in the following cases:
- Monthly subscription cancellations (access continues until period end)
- Annual subscription cancellations made after 14 days from purchase or renewal
- Account suspension or termination due to violation of our Terms of Service
- Failure to cancel before a free trial converts to a paid subscription
- Dissatisfaction with AI-generated content quality (AI features are tools, not guaranteed outcomes)
- Features that were available and functioning as described at the time of purchase
7. Downgrade Instead of Cancel
If you'd like to reduce costs without losing your data, you can downgrade to a lower plan instead of cancelling entirely. Go to Settings > Billing and select a lower-tier plan. The change will take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.
8. Account Deletion
Cancelling your subscription is different from deleting your account:
- Cancellation: Ends your paid subscription but preserves your data on the Free plan
- Account Deletion: Permanently removes all your data, content, and account information within 30 days. This action is irreversible.
To request account deletion, go to Settings > General > Delete Account or email support@finaldoc.io.
9. Dispute Resolution
If you have a billing dispute or are unsatisfied with a refund decision:
- Contact Us First: Email support@finaldoc.io and we will work to resolve the issue within 7 business days
- Grievance Officer: If unresolved, contact our Grievance Officer (details below) who will acknowledge your complaint within 48 hours and resolve it within 30 days
- Consumer Forum: You retain the right to approach the appropriate Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019
We strongly recommend contacting us before initiating a chargeback with your bank or card issuer, as chargebacks may result in account suspension.
