Cancellation & Refund Policy

This Cancellation and Refund Policy applies to all paid subscription plans offered by FinalDoc Technologies Private Limited ("FinalDoc", "we", "us", or "our") through our platform at finaldoc.io. This policy is part of and should be read in conjunction with our Terms of Service.

This policy complies with the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, and other applicable Indian laws.

1. Subscription Plans

FinalDoc offers the following paid subscription plans:

All prices are in US Dollars (USD). Applicable taxes (including GST for Indian customers) are added at checkout.

2. How to Cancel

You may cancel your subscription at any time through either of these methods:

  1. Self-Service: Go to Settings > Billing in your FinalDoc dashboard and click "Cancel Subscription"
  2. Email: Send a cancellation request to support@finaldoc.io from your registered email address

We will acknowledge your cancellation request within 24 hours and send a confirmation email once the cancellation is processed.

4.1 Monthly Subscriptions

Monthly subscription payments are non-refundable. When you cancel a monthly plan, you retain access to all paid features for the remainder of your current billing period. No partial-month refunds are issued.

4.2 Annual Subscriptions

If you cancel an annual subscription within 14 days of the initial purchase date or the annual renewal date, you are eligible for a prorated refund for the unused portion of the subscription.

Prorated refund calculation:

Refund = (Annual Price) − (Monthly Price × Months Used)

After 14 days from purchase or renewal, annual plans are non-refundable, but you retain access until the end of the annual period.

When a free trial or promotional offer is available:

If you subscribed through a promotional offer (e.g., "Maker plan free for 6 months"), the promotional period is treated as a free trial. Standard refund terms apply to the paid period that follows.

5. Refund Process

To request a refund (for eligible annual plan cancellations):

  1. Email support@finaldoc.io with the subject line "Refund Request"
  2. Include your registered email address and reason for the refund
  3. We will review your request within 3 business days
  4. Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method within 5–10 business days

The actual time for the refund to appear in your account depends on your bank or card issuer and may take an additional 5–7 business days.

7. Downgrade Instead of Cancel

If you'd like to reduce costs without losing your data, you can downgrade to a lower plan instead of cancelling entirely. Go to Settings > Billing and select a lower-tier plan. The change will take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.

Cancelling your subscription is different from deleting your account:

To request account deletion, go to Settings > General > Delete Account or email support@finaldoc.io.

If you have a billing dispute or are unsatisfied with a refund decision:

  1. Contact Us First: Email support@finaldoc.io and we will work to resolve the issue within 7 business days
  2. Grievance Officer: If unresolved, contact our Grievance Officer (details below) who will acknowledge your complaint within 48 hours and resolve it within 30 days
  3. Consumer Forum: You retain the right to approach the appropriate Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019

We strongly recommend contacting us before initiating a chargeback with your bank or card issuer, as chargebacks may result in account suspension.
